Journey to Nazareth July 17 – 21, 2011 6pm – 8:15pm This year, it will be held at the home of our partner VBS… Imagine
living and working in the dusty town of - you'd hear
whisperings about the carpenter's kid who says he's the Son of God. - You might
have Jesus and his family over for Shabbat meal. - And perhaps
you'd secretly wonder if that child down the street could really be your
Messiah... At Hometown
Nazareth, kids and adults get to meet Mary and hear her stories of Jesus'
boyhood. Mary must have lived side by side with many people who didn't
believe that Jesus was the Son of God.
As your kids hear Mary tell all about how she knew that Jesus was
God's Son, they'll explore how they can stand up for their faith in everyday
life. This year we
will be partnering with _______________________________ Vacation Bible School- 2010 ------------------------------------------------------------- Joseph’s
Journey From
prison to palace Thank you, thank you to everyone who pitched in
and helped to make our journey to The 22 kids who traveled back in time to visit
ancient Egypt and learn about Joseph had a great time…they learned life
lessons from Joseph and his adventures, experienced artisan skills such as
making bricks and jeweled collars, embalming secrets and other crafts in the
marketplace, dined Nile-style with crocodile kabobs (tastes like chicken) and
lentil soup and played Pyramid Playground games. Everyone even got their Egyptian make-up
done! Whether you were a Family Leader, Family
Assistant, Merchant, actor, set decorator/tent-installer, painter, chef,
table mover or anything else we have failed to mention—every job was
important and when combined made everything come together. We make a great team! Our mission was to bring the Bible and the world
of Joseph to life for our kids…judging by the smiling faces last
Saturday afternoon, we think that we succeeded. |
